Mangonui Harbour

I hear the squawking seagulls hovering above the water, looking for fish. Boat engines roar as loud a barking dogs. Far away, trawlers come in from sea to return home. The water is sparkling, pretty and calm. Rotten squid bait, smelly as rotten cheese left behind by careless fisherman. The water felt as cold as ice. I see fluffy clouds as soft as candyfloss floating above the sparkling harbour. I see people fishing in mackrell, as silver as a diamond earring. I hear the waves crashing hard on the jetty.
